Green-tech launch new biodegradable tree range at APF 2018

Green-tech has launched a new biodegradable tree range, known as Treebio, today at APF 2018.

The range consists of 100% biodegradable spiral tree guards and spiral vole guards, bio weed mats, bamboo canes and mulch mat pegs.

Sales Director, Richard Gill said,

“In response to the growing desire to reduce the use of standard plastics across the industry; we are excited to unveil, after an extensive R&D period, Treebio - the new biodegradable tree range. Treebio is an environmentally friendly, weed and erosion control range of planting essentials.

We are continuously searching for suitable alternatives to plastic that will protect the tree whilst also protecting the environment. The spiral and vole guards contain biodegradable polymers that will break down. The materials all adhere to EU guidelines and have been independently tested to gain DIN CERTO certification. They are classified as fully compostable after 4-5 years in the place of use.”

Richard Kay, Green-tech’s Chairman continues,

“Extensive feedback and first-hand experience has given Green-tech an unique insight into landscaper and forester requirements. The Treebio range has been launched as a result of this to help our customers balance their clients’ needs whilst addressing their environmental conscience and helping to comply with their corporate responsibility policies.”

The Bio Spiral tree guard is available in a range of heights from 45cm up to 150cm and three different diameters – 38mm, 50mm and 65mm. The Bio Spiral Vole guard can be purchased in heights of 15cm and 20cm and diameters of 38mm and 50mm.

The Bio Weed mats are made of 100% plant material which will biodegrade to compost at the end of their lifetime providing a nutrient rich element for the soil and negating any possible ongoing maintenance costs.
